- If you haven't got one, download the free FileBuffer from
http://www.filebuffer.com/src/FileBuffer.exe and place it in a folder (e.g. a folder named FileBuffer on the
Desktop). Double click FileBuffer.exe to run it.
- On the main screen, click Connect and you will see the Login screen as shown below.
Enter a profile name as you like and enter the Login and Password as you received after you sign up.
You don't need to change other information unless you know what it is. Just click Connect,
and you will be connected to your FileBuffer account.

what you will see (The red part is the added instructions.).

- To send files/folders from your computer to FileBuffer, highlight the files/folders and
click the right-pointing arrow. If you need to encrypt your files, you need to check the Encrypt
box before clicking this arrow button, and you will now be asked to choose an Encryption Key. An encryption key
is similar to password. It is used to "scramble" your files so that nobody can open the files without knowing
the key.

- To receive files/folders from FileBuffer to your computer, highlight the files/folders
on the right side and
click the left-pointing arrow. If the files are encrypted, you need to check the
Decrypt box before clicking this arrow button and you will be asked to enter
the Decryption Key (the key used to
encrypt those files). If a Decryption Key is not entered (Cancel), the files will be downloaded
without decrypting them.

- IMPORTANT: If you use FileBuffer in a shared computer (e.g. at school or library) and you
are not expecting to use it any more from that computer, you should delete FileBuffer.exe and other files created
from the computer.
The procedures above show you how to manually send and receive files between your computer and FileBuffer. However, if you
frequently transfer files between same folders in your computer and same locations in FileBuffer
every time, you can create automated jobs to do the copying. You can also create shortcuts on your Desktop or
Quick Launch Bar to do the file sending/receiving with a click.
